Microenterprise Support and Business Development
Project Overview:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) initiated a project in Deir Dalloum, Wadi Khaled, Mount Lebanon, aimed at supporting local Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Lebanon. To achieve this goal, IRC collaborated with Salem Group to undertake various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Assessments: Salem Group conducted assessments to identify challenges, gaps, and support needs among local vendors and MSMEs in the target area.
2. Analyze Data: The team analyzed the collected data to determine specific interventions that could assist businesses in managing their regular needs and fostering overall growth.
3. Identify Training Needs: Salem Group identified the specific training needs related to business skills, financial management, and marketing for the program beneficiaries.
4. Develop Training Materials: They identified, adapted, and developed relevant training materials along with corresponding monitoring tools.
5. Conduct Coaching Sessions: Salem Group conducted both group and one-on-one coaching sessions as part of the program.
Outcomes:
The training and support sessions focused on several key areas, including:
– Understanding the current status of clients after receiving grants.
– Overcoming challenges with program support.
– Addressing ongoing challenges in areas such as sales and marketing, pricing, cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and risk management
