Career Counselling
Project Overview:
Women’s Programs Association is in the process of contracting a Career Counsellor for its project titled “”My Career – My Choice.”” This project is set to be implemented in North Lebanon, specifically in Beddawi and Nahr El Bared Palestinian refugee camps at WPA’s centers, as well as in Tripoli at the Social Development Center (SDC) of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA). The project is funded by Secours Islamique France (SIF) and is scheduled to run from January 2024 to June 2025. The primary objective of the project is to empower young women by facilitating informed decision-making, improving their employability, and establishing connections with the private sector in Lebanon. The project aims to target 120 young women between the ages of 18 and 29, with participants divided equally into five consecutive cycles, each lasting six months. Each cycle encompasses career counselling sessions, life skills and soft skills training, vocational training, and support in job placement, with overlapping activities to ensure a seamless transition and maximize participant outcomes..
Key Responsibilities:
– Market Research: Conduct a comprehensive desk market study and research, including assessing profitable career opportunities for job placement and future career prospects.
– Career Counselling: Deliver a total of 240 career counselling sessions to the 120 young women participants (2 sessions per participant). These sessions involve profiling, understanding participants’ backgrounds and motivations, and proposing action plans to support them in achieving their professional goals aligned with market needs.
– Assessment and Intervention: Determine suitable assessments and interventions required to assist participants. Analyze and interpret career assessment results, integrating them into career counselling and job search coaching sessions.
– Group Counseling: Conduct group counseling sessions to guide participants in making informed career decisions.
Job Search Support: Offer guidance and coaching to participants in self-directed job search strategies. Provide critiques of resumes and cover letters and deliver interview skills training.
Outcomes:
– Empowered decision-making and employability for young women.
– Established connections with the private sector.
– Comprehensive career support for 120 participants across five cycles.
