Capacity Building for Local NGOs
Project Overview:
Anera appointed an expert consultant to design and deliver in-person training workshops for local NGO staff in North Lebanon. The primary goal was to enhance the sustainability, self-sufficiency, and community responsiveness of local organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Design and Proposal Writing:
– Covering project cycle understanding, problem-solving scenarios, peer review, and budgeting essentials.
2. AAP & Inclusion:
– Focusing on concepts, principles, and key components of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) & Inclusion in humanitarian and development work.
3. Fundraising and Grant Acquisition:
– Training on identifying funding opportunities, communicating with donors, marketing tools, and presentation skills & pitching.
4. MEAL Training:
– Providing an overview of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) concepts, integrating MEAL in project design, establishing monitoring systems, and ensuring data quality.
Outcomes:
– Enhanced capacity of NGO staff in project design, fundraising, and MEAL.
– Improved skills in proposal writing, donor communication, and inclusive practices.
– Strengthened ability of NGOs to sustain and expand their services effectively.
