Conflict Sensitivity Trainings by House of Peace (HOPe)
Organization Overview:
House of Peace (HOPe), a non-governmental social peacebuilding organization based in Lebanon, aims to enhance social peace through various activities, dialogue, and training programs. It focuses on shifting perceptions, supporting community-based initiatives, advancing conflict sensitivity principles, and voicing grassroots perspectives.
The Conflict Sensitivity Unit at HOPe is dedicated to advancing the Conflict Sensitivity approach among NGOs, INGOs, activists, social initiatives, and volunteers, primarily through specialized training and the Lebanon Conflict Sensitivity Forum.
Training Programs that Salem Group joined:
1. Conflict Sensitivity Training for Staff Level I:
– Content: Context and conflict analysis, Do No Harm and Conflict Sensitivity approach, project interaction analysis, and CS action plan development.
– Follow-up: Meeting based on the group’s action plan.
2. Conflict Sensitivity Training for Staff Level II:
– Participants: Individuals who completed Level I or have prior knowledge of CS.
– Content: System Thinking Analysis, resource transfer, and explicit/ethical messages.
Outcomes:
– Enhanced understanding and application of conflict sensitivity principles among participants.
– Empowered NGOs, INGOs, and volunteers with tools and strategies for effective peacebuilding and conflict management.
– Strengthened capacity for creating and implementing community-based peace initiatives.
